Jaide Fox (formerly Bateman) is a self-taught artist based in Kelowna, BC, Canada.
She creates vibrant pieces using a wide variety of contrasting colors to create abstract compositions. Jaide thrives on blended gradients juxtaposed with strong lines or shapes. She uses many different tools to influence this technique and is ambidextrous, often painting with both hands, sometimes in unison. Her technique can be engaging and dynamic to watch during live paint sessions. She rarely pre-plans a painting, almost exclusively relying on atmosphere, music, intuition and mood to guide her through a piece. Often times, a painting will start one way, and end entirely different.
She also creates "functional art" which includes coasters and ceramics painted with ink. Jaide believes that art should be accessible for all people, so she has a wide variety priced pieces starting at only $10.00. These ceramic pieces are available exclusively at her markets.
Jaide Fox (Bateman) is accepting sales on original paintings, print inquiries, market openings, live painting opportunities, as well as commission inquiries.
She is a regular vendor at the East Kelowna Market. She is also a published artist as seen in October, November, December 2018 issues of British Vogue, and November, December, 2018 and January 2019 issues of Vanity Fair UK. You can find where she will be next on the EVENTS page.
